Ubuntu 10.04 screen saver crashing system

having issue with Screen saver.
System>Preferences>Screen saver. will always crash, not sure where to start?

System unstable. Blank Screen. Mouse & Keyboard Inoperative.

If user attempts to activate System > Preferences > Screensaver. this system will instantly freeze...

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (lucid).

Machine: Compaq Presario

Onboard Video: Intel 845

willing to try positive solution to resolve the bug.

Reinstall Ubuntu 10.04. lucid Desktop.
without UPDATES.
Stabilized System.
all bugs went away...

I did not Update the system at all.
First Installation Ubuntu 10.
System > Administration > Update Manager. Applied Updates. System became
unstable.

Update Package(s) issue...

System > Preferences > Screen Saver. Only intensified Blank Screen > no
mouse >
No Keyboard response. Update Package or Packages Caused this Scenario.

So far so good.

well after 24 hours the system hung.

same scenario. Blank Screen. Mouse, Keyboard, non response. Reboot.

could Flash cause this issue?

Graphics card:Intel i845e

Wow. its still having issue. I did not break It.

I suspect more than one problem or Event Conflict.

1).ScreenSaver is one of the issue. its broke!
2).Firefox is another. I think that maybe due to Adobe. still broke!
3).Desktop will crash once in awhile also. broke!

Patching Kernel. was helpful, for a few hour...
Cpugroup, did not help either. only made /var/log/btmp, lack permissions. can't get that stable.

gconf-editor, /apps - gnome-screensaver. Is their light at the end of the tunnel??

btw. I did not break it.

Clicking and drag, Mouse can also cause the system freeze.

a bit curious. How stable is 10.10?

Screensaver Ubuntu 10.04.

How do I remove the Screensaver, Module or Programs altogether?
:) or How do I remove The Screensaver Completely from the files system?
