By the way, both Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft and (unless you're running Ubuntu Server and not using non-server-related packages, like those which would provide you with a GUI) Ubuntu 6.04 LTS (Dapper Drake) are *long* past being supported. If you're running either of those releases, you should really upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx). (After you've done then, it's then possible to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, if you want. However, Lucid is fully supported, and will continue to be supported far longer than Maverick.)

While Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) and Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) are still supported, this is only until the end of April, so upgrading to one of them is not a good idea.
