Lucid Lynx backgrounds gone after upgrade to Maverick

Hi,
    The cool Lucid Lynx backgrounds seems to have disappeared after upgrade to Maverick Meerkat, where can i get them? and how to prevent this in future?

If you pull down the deb or the lucid you can extract it with

dpkg-deb -x filename

You can then use the backgrounds from Lucid in Maverick
