Trouble for Mac Pro about UBUNTU 9.10

i can't install ubuntu 9.10 ( new version ) for mac pro.. i booted from cd, and opened boot screen menu , then i choose "install ubuntu" menu, but it didn'nt any effect. also any menu button have no effect. what can we do for this problem?.

I just had the same problem installing Ubuntu 9.10 from the Alternate CD on a new Mac Pro. Trying the same CD within Parallels from the Mac Pro's DVD-Drive (HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GH41N) got me to the cd-rom dialog. It seems that for any strange reason, the DVD-Drive cannot be determined or read (although it booted from it).

Can you help with this problem?
