Try this solution:

This means backing up everything on your /home directory, reformatting the 1.5 TB harddisk partitions in ext4 format. Then retry installing....

Make sure to first back up any other data that you have and that is not located in /home, before reformatting and reinstalling.

I had a similar problem (see bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/495024).
Have you tried the alternate install CD? It worked in my case.

lorsen has a different problem, as I've indicated by my comment in bug 495024, which is probably unrelated to this question.
