I have a bluetooth mouse, we should support them?

Asked by BoQsc

Today, I booted into Ubuntu 19.04 livecd and suddenly saw no option to connect bluetooth devices with which I would like to make a choice of selecting if I want to boot into Ubuntu live mode or Install it.

I think the best way would be: after the livecd is booted, start a bluetooth device search. If any bluetooth devices are found nearby - simply list them below or somewhere near, so that at least I could select to connect my bluetooth mouse via keyboard.

Although, what if the keyboard is bluetooth as well? How are we suppose to start Ubuntu Installation or Ubuntu Live Mode if all we have is wireless mouses and keyboards.

Is it possible to connect a wireless bluetooth without using the transceiver? If yes, I need your help then. Thanks!

Yes, it is possible.
However you have to buy Bluetooth mouse that is not "hardwired to any transciever." aka does not come with transceiver. I myself have bought one for 4 EUR. It can connect even to most android phones.
And there are more expensive mouses to fit most needs. However I'm kind of surprised how energy efficient and without any problems while using it for gameplay. I can link you to the mouse that I bought, as it could be nice to have it as a test subject. Especialy, when it is so cheap. I might do that tomorrow since I'm on the phone right now.

A thing to remember about abou Bluetooth receivers:
Most receivers can't handle more than one device. I'm unsure if any Bluetooth adapter exist that actually can handle keyboard and mouse at the same time without any disruption to other ones connected.

So the most common usage could only be:
A bluetooth keyboard with a transceiver and a mouse connected without transceiver.

BTW. Since you mentioned transceivers, I'm kind of unsure if the work to support Bluetooth devices without receivers is of the highest priority. Sure it is nice to have a wide range of support.
