Lubuntu 16.04 can't be directly installed on my netbook by usb installing

Asked by Juan P. Tamayo

When I put the Lubuntu 16.04 iso in an usb stick, this operating system doesn't run after the installation wizard ask me to reboot. Even, if I shut down my netbook pressing the button a few seconds, and I turn on it again, it can't run anyway. I need to install the 15.10 version, and upgrade from this version

If you boot to the live USB you can install GRUB to the MBR of the drive. OmgUbuntu has a guide named "Sticking it to GRUB"

That's true, I don't dude that. But the last time I installed lubuntu on my netbook, I needed to install the previous version of this operating system (16.04).

Anyway, thanks for your response. But I still think that lubuntu developers should solve this issue, for those lubuntu users that have old computers, and they have compatibility problems

I don't reset the lubuntu version, I installed a time ago on my netbook.

Anyone knows if this issue is solved?

Thanks a lot
