I forgot to give the file that I needed to open from the same source

"Open the .desktop file (such as /usr/share/applications/libreoffice4.1-writer.desktop for LO Writer)"

What is the output of the terminal commands

cat -n /usr/share/applications/libreoffice4.1-writer.desktop
grep X-GIO-NoFuse=true /usr/share/applications/libreoffice-*

This is what i get for the above commands.

I found the Libre office versionas 4.2.4.2 in my system. I substituted that for 41.1, but the output is the same

I tried the unaltered command once again and I got the output as,

sed -i 's/X-GIO-NoFuse=true/#X-GIO-NoFuse=true/' /usr/share/applications/libreoffice-*
sed: couldn't open temporary file /usr/share/applications/sed5DY25Q: Permission denied

It seems that you no not have the line with X-GIO-NoFuse in your desktop file(s), but the one with X-KDE-Protocols

According to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67527#c15 it is recommended to either comment out the line X-GIO-NoFuse=true or the line X-KDE-Protocols=file,http,smb,ftp,webdav whichever is present in your libreoffice .desktop files.

Your output shows no X-GIO-NoFuse lines, but lines with X-KDE-Protocols.

So in your case the terminal command should be:

sudo sed -i 's/X-KDE-Protocols=/#X-KDE-Protocols=/'
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-*.desktop

(sudo in front is required to modify theses system files)

Now i am able to open MS office files using Network in dolphin file manager
