cannot install ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS on Dell T5600

1. Booting from CD containing the iso-image of Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS does not work. I insert the CD, restart the system, keep pressing F12 to boot from CD. It does NOT work.

2. System came with Windows 7 ultimate pre-installed.

3. I have two hard-disks of 2TB each. The C: disk contains Windows 7 OS. The D: disk shows windows primary partition. I( want to install Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS on D: disk.

4. The following are specs:

Intell Xeon processor E5-2630

2 GB Nvidia quadeo K2000

32 GB (4X8)

Kindly suggest how to install Ubuntu.

I suggest you resize the NTFS partition in Windows then install to the freed space. You may need the boot option:

nouveau.blacklist=1

To get a display. You can then install the 'nvidia-current' package once you get the OS installed.
