How you try to reset the machine to factory settings ?

I think you must boot IN TO BIOS configuration page and set as first boot device the device with the backup copy..
OR
you can hold down some key (I don't know which is , in your Laptop) and boot straight to the recovery mode.. (factory settings)

Thanks

Not all computers are able to be reset back factory defaults. It depends on if there is a restore partition on your hard drive or if you a restore CD/DVD from the manufacturer. Not all manufacturers supply this.

Do you have both Windows and Ubuntu installed?
If yes you can remove Ubuntu .

If you installed Ubuntu with Wubi see here
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide

If you installed Ubuntu from a CD/DVD or USB stick see here
http://askubuntu.com/questions/133533/how-to-remove-ubuntu-and-put-windows-back-on

If your system is only Ubuntu then if you have restore disk you can use that or do a clean install from a Windows install CD.

You will need to set the BIOS to boot from this device as pointed out by NikTh. On my computer you press F2 soon after start-up to get to BIOS settings. Your computer may be the same or different. Since you have not told us the make and model of your computer we can't tell you what you need to press. Try googleing the manufacturer and model of your computer with "BIOS" settings. If this fails let us know the make and model: someone here may know.

Can you help with this problem?
