Kernel panic out of memory

Asked by igo

I have Acer Aspire 5349 notebook. There are two OSes in it. Windows7 and OpenSUSE. I wanted to clear notebook and install New OS. From Windows7 i started to delete extended partition. Exactly swap. Then i realise i do wrong step and abort mission. Now i can't load any OS. It starts as usual and after i choose OS It stacks. I can't load nor usb either cd live. Can I rescue my notebook and how?

We are not doing any support for OpenSuSE here. But if you want to install Ubuntu Linux we can help.
In that case please describe how you want your system to be after reinstallation. (like: Windows and Ubuntu with dual boot, Ubuntu only...). And tell us if there is data you might have to recover from the old installations.

In this case, you should reinstall Windows from the installation CD first. In the installation process there is the possibility to partition your disk. Delete all partitions and create a new one for Windows, taking about half of the disk space.
After Windows has been installed, you can boot from the Ubuntu installation CD and install Ubuntu. The installer will detect the free disk space and offer you the option to install Ubuntu Linux there. When finished you will have a boot prompt asking you which OS to boot.

If you have further questions, please ask!

Thanks for this hint!! It saved my computer today.
I couldn't boot either from Windows 7,8, Ubuntu 14.04 nor Boot-Repair iso, and I was getting the kernel panic and out of memory errors... I got this error after repartitioning my drive (under Windows 8.1 install script) and inmediately getting it frozen.

Great idea downloading Ubuntu 10.10!!

Million thanks!!
