Shuttle xs35v3 compatibility with 12.10?

Asked by Marc Girardet

Trying to instal Ubuntu 12.10 on a Shuttle xs35v3, with a USB dvd drive. It appears to install fine, but after it asks to reboot the system it will freeze on startup. After repeated attempts to restart it freezes at a different point each time, without any specific error message. It appears to be during startup with multiple lines of text appearing on the screen.

Is this operating system compatible with this hardware? If so what needs to be done to make it work?

It has the Intel Atom D2700 CPU with an Intel NM10 Express Chipset. The video chip is the Intel GMA 3650 Graphic engine.

Successfully installed 12.04 with a bootable USB stick. Not sure if it made any difference using the USB stick instead of a DVD drive but everything is running smooth now.
