Compatibility with Asus P8Z77-V motherboard

Asked by Xavier Leroy

I am spec'ing a new PC and I need it to perfectly run Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (preferably) or 12.10 (if needed). Can anyone confirm that Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 support an Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard, or more generally the following chips:
- Z77 chipset
- Realtek RTL8111F Ethernet controller
- Realtek ALC892 audio controller?

I saw reports of difficulties with earlier versions of Ubuntu and some of the chips above. I would very much like to know if these issues are gone with 12.04 or 12.10. Many thanks in advance!

Hi ,

most common issues with Linux and devices located usually at graphics cards and/or wireless .

Other things usually working out of the box or if some problem exist , it will be solved easily.

I cannot confirm that this motherboard will work out of the box because I don't have a MB like this but generally what I said above is like a "rule".

I would purchase the MB.

Read here about Z77 chip and Ubuntu 12.04

Thank you.
