12.04 Works on Flash - All ok , drivers?

Asked by John

Hi

I have been running Ubunto 12.04 on Flash for about a week now.
I now want to install and replace Windows.
If everything works on the stick will it once installed?
Do I need to download drivers before installation?

Unless you're hurting for disk space, I would highly recommend keeping Windows as a backup OS.

You can create a dual boot if you don't want to remove completely Windows , so you will have Windows and Ubuntu side by side and you will be able to choose (at boot) which OS to load.

Read here the guide
http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/05/17/how-to-dual-boot-ubuntu-12-04-and-windows-7/

or see here a Video

I highly recommend to NOT USE WUBI installer.. above links are for regular dual-boot and NOT WUBI.

Thanks

If everything is working on your stick it will be fine, and you won't need to download any drivers, you can just pop in your stick, hit the install button and then (probably) select install alongside windows7 to keep windows as a backup if anything screws up.

The OS installed in a flash storage will run no differently in an internal drive, just a little faster.
