Maybe you burned it to high speed ?

Try to use a USB instead of DVD. Use unetbootin => http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

and grab the iso of 12.10 64 bit from here => http://releases.ubuntu.com/quantal/

Configure your BIOS to boot first from USB and try again.

Thanks

How did you burn the file? Did you extract it and burn the files, or did you tell your CD burner to burn the ISO as an ISO? If you open the DVD in the OS you burned it in is there just one file on the disk?

Did you MD5 test the ISO you burned?

Did you burn as slowly as possible?

hi i extracted the file in windows 7 and then burned it, so there are about 10 files listed in the dvd, what is a md5 test, how can you burn a disc slow as possible, again the ubuntu opens up and works when im in windows, but when i just use the disc when starting up it says no valid operating system found, thanks

You NEVER extract the ISO, your junk OS may give it an archive icon but that is purely because WinRAR can extract the file. Resist the urge to extract the file!! Right click the file and open it with your burning application. Then set the burning speed as low as possible and start the burn. Te burning app will put the data on the CD correctly.

Can you help with this problem?
