What distro will work with sandybridge MB & Intel i7 64 bit processor?

I upgraded to a sandybridge mother board with a 64 bit Intel i7 processor and my old Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will not recognize my Ethernet connection for me to upgrade the driver.
Its probably time to upgrade my Ubuntu distro also. Which would work with this system? Will it work with my Hughes satellite ethernet connection?
Thanks for your help.

I personally think go ahead with 12.04 LTS which is already having Sandy Bridge Support. But my personal choice is ubuntu 12.10 if you are okay to do some research :)
