Hi Demetri,

yes you can boot Ubuntu from usb-II easily. You have everything explained in main page of Ubuntu.
Link: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install
You can read everything how to run Ubuntu from usb and even how to install it.

If this helps you solve your question, please mark thread as solved.

Regards,
Miha

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
How did you put the ISO on the USB?

Thanks

Thank you my friends for a very fast response...
My problem is that I have installed ok. from ISO/CD to USB stick but when I boot on my IBM Thinkpad T42p it comes a message in black/White Screen/letters saying that my CPU has not a kernel feature PXX or something ( I was disapointed and stopped trying).
My T42p runs with Intel Pendium M 1,7GHz 2,00 GB RAM
