With 4GB RAM, Is it enough to install 10.4 as only OS?

Is it possible to install Ubantu 10.4 as my only operating system? I have 4GB RAM.

With 1Gb RAM you have enough to run any desktop environment. Lucid desktop is EOL in April next year but the server will be support for a long time to come. If you want a desktop OS I suggest you install Precise as it's desktop is supported until April 2017 as it is LTS

Hello Sindy,

I suggest you another option. Tomorrow is release date of Ubuntu 12.10. It will be the latest release of Ubuntu OS and it will have much more functions than 10.4 Choice is yours, but I will definitely suggest you to use Ubuntu 12.10. It will be much more safe and stable and also you have Unity. If you might not want Unity you can also install old gnome desktop so you will run latest release with gnome desktop - it's same which has Ubuntu 10.4.
