Ubuntu on Multi-Core Processors

Asked by sfarber53

I am planning to build an 8 core machine with tons of memory. Is there a special (SMP?) version of Ubuntu that is needed to operate this type of machine properly? I'm trying to get my homework done in advance to avoid problems and frustration.

Thank you,

Steve

The 32bit desktop kernel supports up to 8 kernels.

Should be no problem at all.

Thank you, Andrew. That saves me a lot of searching and perspiration.
