How to install Ubuntu 12.04 with only CD Drive

Q 1/ There is no network icon by the clock so I can't connect. I have try network set-up wizard with on luck.

Q 2/ As this PC has only CD drive can I copy Ubuntu 12.04 from Linux Format DVD (on another computer) to a CD them install
it to this PC ?

I am new to this so please explain all the steps

This PC is for a friend a young man of 9 years old. to play games and send emails only

That system does not meet the hardware requirements for a recent Ubuntu version. It has too few RAM.
But the 128MB are just enough to run Lubuntu, a Ubuntu derivate, which uses the LXDE desktop instead of Gnome/Unity. It is not as fancy, but made to run on older machines with weak hardware.

You can download a CD image at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/GetLubuntu .
Burn it on a CD and but in the drive while booting!

I would like to upgrade the memory to minimum of 1Gb if that is possible (I have asked Crucial if they could advise)
Them install Ubuntu 12.04 or Mint.

Q 1/ As this young man may like to play games on this PC are there games available? ( I have never play any)

I have an HTML dump generated by cpu-z if it is of use to you, but do not know how put it hear !
