No, I am planning on buying it. Are you suggesting I boot a store demo with liveCD and run dmsg, capture the log file to USB key, and upload that file to you?

See how it works using a live USB. We need to know the chips inside that make up the system, simply stating the system doesn't help much as consumer sites do not give enough details to state what will work and not....

Visual inspection can only go so far in determining compatibility. Would running dmsg from the command line help? Is there some other log file which could be useful?

It's a shame... it seemed like a great laptop. Perhaps a different distro would work better? I'm in the same market you are, need a new laptop pretty soon! Would love to hear any new findings :)
