amd radeon hd 6000 installing issue

Asked by David Stacey

I am trying to install ubuntu 12 64bit on my custom desktop. I am running asus F1A55-M LE with wn integrated AMD Radeon HD 6000. Once i get passed the first loading screan, to where you select to either run from disk, install or check disk my monitor shuts off and stays off almost like i have unplugged it. Any ideas

David

Try to force text mode for the try/install -- At the first screen, with the little person and keyboard icon, type a return to force the text mode.
If you still have problems, try the alternate iso which defaults to text mode.
The nomodeset addition may be necessary for your normal boot, search the questions for "nomodeset" for more info.
