How to replace Windows 8 evaluation copy with Ubuntu, on a NetBook?

Asked by william shelley

So I have a Levano NetBook that came with Windows 7. My son installed the Windows 8 evaluation Beta copy. It stinks. The only way to revert back to Windows 7 is to find the "old windows" file..if it exists, which apparently it doesn't. All I want to do is to wipe the drive clean, if I can.....? And replace with Linux/Ubuntu. I am an avid Apple/Mac fan, but stupidly got the Windows NetBook because I thought it would be fun....It isn't! So, how Can I install Ubuntu? Thanks, Bill

Hello,

Download the ISO image of Ubuntu from the web page and burn it to a USB pendrive. Set the boot for the USB drive in the BIOS; start the computer with the F2 key held down to do this.

To burn the ISO image to the Pendrive in Ubuntu you can use UNetbootin.

On installing Ubuntu select the use all the hard disk which will wipe all the Windows' files.

Regards,
