With only 128Mb of RAM you are not looking at Ubuntu, it's variations or it's derivatives at all.

You are looking for something like Puppy Linux, DSL, Slitaz or Tiny Core Linux.

Increase the amount of RAM if you can. That will increase what is possible.

Hi there,

you can use Ubuntu 8.10. It should run on that specification. You can download image here: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/

If that helps you solve your question, please mark thread as solved.

Regards,
Miha

Ubuntu 8.10 is not advised at all because you cannot get the patches and security updates , it is out of support now .
As suggested by arochester (arochester) you can use the mentioned light weight distros .

please go for puppy linux....it will be good on the specs provided. install the latest version 5.3.3 ( iso size is 120mb)..... It is good even on the old hardware and have linux kernel 3.x.x. forget about ubuntu or any of it's derivatives. they won't even install. download puppy from www.puppylinux.org.
