Ubuntu installed but windows boots

I'm new to ubuntu, but I really want to try it! I burnt the ISO to a DVD then boot my laptop from DVD. Went through the whole setup smoothly. When it got to the part that asks would you like to use windows and ubuntu or delete windows and use ubuntu. I selected delete windows. But, when i reboot, windows 8 just starts up again. what do i do?

press shift key while booting it will take you to GRUB menu .. from where you can select Ubuntu to boot
