I am trying to install Ubuntu Server. System boots off cd and starts searching in DHCP then it quits an reports " no filename received". Then restarts through the whole routine again. It will do this three times and then it just stops. Please Help

I am trying to install 12.04 lts server on a 3000+ amg athlon 64 cpu yes its a single core, with 1 gb ram, ssd 96gb hard drive is 1st drive and i have a 640gb hard drive as secondary.

did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
if you burned a CD, did you burn as slowly as possible?

Single core is fine if it suits the need of the server. No point having a quad core CPU in a system running a Samba service for 2 client PCs.
