Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - Precise Pangolin Desktop beta. No LCD on laptop (external monitor), install help
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop.
My LCD is cracked, however, and the problem is when I try and boot the computer using the CD the computer doesn't send information to the external monitor (it only begins doing this when the login screen appears).
Can anyone give me ultra-specific instructions (literally, "press the down key three times and hit enter") for the installation of this program? It's a long shot but worth a try...
Thanks!

To see basic basic boot information such as bios posting and initial loading of the OS, you will need to enter the bios on your laptop and setup the default display device to the external monitor. Unfortunately this may be a catch-22 as you may not able to see you bios setup screen on the external display.
Can you help with this problem?
