Installing Ubuntu 12.04 alternate amd64 onto iMac

How do I install Ubuntu 12.04 Alternate AMD 64 onto a iMac or a Ubuntu compatible.

Specs of the iMac

    3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
    2560 x 1440 resolution
    4GB (two 2GB) memory
    1TB hard drive1
    AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 1GB

You might as well go for 32 bit because you will still get your 4gb ram. 64, bit is good but 32 bit is recommended. Create a live cd (burn iso to cd). Put cd in and change boot order to boot from cd. Then just click install alongside mac lion or whatever os you have
