how to install ubuntu on a old IBM A21p laptop...

Trying to load ubuntu onto an old IBM A21p laptop and am getting IBM system detected ...wont load module. . Is there a way around this?

Burnt ISO files to Disk and the version is ubuntu 12..4 ?

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you burn as slowly as possible?

Didn't test ISO as such but have run Ubuntu on our other 'puters from the disc with no problems. Yes burnt as slow as poss. Thanks for reply.

It sounds as though you might need to alter the BIOS settings in the old computer. Have no idea what you might find in BIOS setting in am IBM though.

Boot problem resolved.....
Now if I go into the old laptop Bios what should I be looking for in particular?.

Yes ram is ok thanks. I read something on internet about this ibm system thing a couple of weeks ago. Naturally I can't find it now but I don't recall a resolution. I seem to remember something about eeprom files???

Possibl a good idea. If I burn a new disc how do I do do the MD5 check  please?
