64-Bit MD5 Checksums do not match, d/l 3 times.

Asked by Bill Maxwell

I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 3 times from 2 different sources. The MD5 checksums do not match! The downloaded one is: 57876b3740ee89e75c8fefc93a7ceee6 and it shows the same on all 3. The MD5 checksum on your site is: 128f0c16f4734c420b0185a492d92e52. Which is the real one??

Have you tried using torrents? They will much much faster and the protocol adds extra integrity checks.

Seems you are not alone:

Now that you have your site back online, both, yours and the torrent solved the problem. The torrent was faster. Problem solved. Thanks, Bill

torrents download from many sources which will be faster than a single source. You will also seed back and help others get the OS too :-)
