installation problem after selecting install ubuntu to hdd dos type screen is appearing general error mounting filesystem maintainance shell will now be started cont D will terminate the shell and reboot the system

did MD5 Check Installation media ?
you have to create
/root
/boot
/swap
partition for installation

and please fully describe you steps from beginning, so we can understand it clearly

i firstly installed ubunto flash drive in my usb
then when i booted my system fron usb then installer boot menu of ubuntu is appearing
then i selected install ubuntu in hard disc
then after some dos type screen colored loading screen of ubuntu appeared
after that dos type screen is now appearing with comments
general error mounting filesystem
maintainance shell will now be started
cont D will terminate the shell and reboot the system
root@ubuntu:~#

I think you downloaded faulty media suggest you to download new ISO image of Ubuntu from Ubuntu's website
perform md5 checksum then use unetbootin to put the data on the USB stick
