Installed Ubuntu 11.10, wont boot after restart

Asked by Erik

Hi
Just got parts for my new HTPC in the mail, installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my crucial SSD from a USB drive. After installation it starts to reboot, and all that appears is a blinking cursor when it boots. And I have to boot from usb pen again to get in.

hardware:
- ASUS E45M1-I DELUXE, AMD E-450
- SSD Crucial 64 GB

But not new to looking online to try and find stuff. Yes new to Linux but you could of searched the web for how this is done. I'm very sure you are not new to that.....

Hold shift at boot and press E to (e)dit the boot line.

Find the line with 'quiet splash' there and delete both words and in it's place type:

nomodeset

Then press ENTER.
