How do/can I install Ubuntu 11.10 on my unformatted machine?

Asked by Marc DuBois

I have an older machine with 2 hard drives that I used the windows CD to delete all the partitions I had.

I downloaded the Ubuntu 11.10 and burned the CD and tried to boot the machine to it. As you can guess, ... that didn't work :)

What step/parts do i need to do to fix this? If i can find my old bootuo floppy will that work?

Thanks
Marc

Yes,my machine meets the requirements. 2.4GHz Pentium, 1GB Ram, 70GB Hard
drive

I verified the md5sum. ( c396dd0f97bd122691bdb92d7e68fde5 )

I burned the cd, and I can see all the files now.

My neighbor had a working CD. I didn't burn the ISO image correctly.
