How do I re=pratrician or do I have to do a fresh install and re-format my hard drive to be able to dual boot? I would need guidance re-pratriciating the hard drive I belive. Thank you

First run a full backup in case of catastrophe. Boot to live CD/USB and you can resize the Linux partition there. You can now install Windows to the free space.
Once the install is done you will need to boot back to the Ubuntu CD/USB as Windows will blindly overwrite Grub with its own garbage bootloader so you need to use a chroot and reinstate Grub

Your "internet cable service" doesn't know and doesn't care ifyou're using linux.use gparted to resize your partition.

Can you help with this problem?
