I am not sure how to solve this question. You know you can just make a livecd of Ubuntu and install it alongside windows 8. Seeings as how Windows 8 is still in beta I do not believe the devolpers have had a chance to configure Wubi for Windows 8.

Do this
1. Make a live cd/usb
2. boot your computer from the cd/usb
3. hit install, and there should be an option that lets you automatically install beside windows. (This options tends to work better)
4. Come back if you have any questions
