Having trouble installing with usb or cd.
Yesterday, I tried to install Ubuntu on my older pc (windows xp). I downloaded Ubuntu 11.10 and the USB software. Everything was working fine until the final step. I restarted my computer and pressed F1 to get into the BIOS settings. Once there I went into the boot sub-section and there was the problem. There was floppy, HDD, CD-ROMM, but there was no USB one. So now I don't know how I can change my computer so the USB will run first.
I also tried to install it via CD. Since the computer I am installing it one is xp it said to use a dvd. I downloaded the software for it and put in a DVD-r. It said writable but unusable. I also put a CD in, but it was un writable and unusable. Which type of DVD do I need to use?
Thanks,
Kayla
