Screen goes black whenever a change is made (11.10 Live CD)

I'm currently trying to use the Live CD for 11.10 and I can encounter this issue with both a CD or a USB stick.

Whenever a change is made on the screen (scrolling over a menu, clicking, etc.) the screen goes completely black for several seconds. I'm able to interact, but am unable to see. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Sounds like a problem that was occuring with Nvidia drivers. I believe it was fixed with an update so you might like to try it anyway. For the LiveUSB you might try the nomodeset boot option to see if it helps at all.
