Get Kernel panic error when trying to install 11.10

Asked by John Reagan

So I downloaded the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 11.10, burned the ISO to a disk, put it in my drive and rebooted.

Pretty soon it gives me a text screen with a lot of hexadecimal hash on it along with the message that a "Kernal panic error" has occurred.

So, any ideas why this isn't working?

Please be sure you to have burned a valid ( i mean md5sum checked iso image) iso image.

Then booting from Ubuntu live install cd please made a memory test on your ram

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?

Can you help with this problem?
