What have you done so far?

Have you tried an Ubuntu Desktop disk (LiveCD) ? Have you tried any other versions of Linux? What happened?

run ubuntu in live mode and if everything works fine then you can install it. the processor and ram specified and more than enough for ubuntu to run. but as far as graphic card is concerned, you will come to know when you run ubuntu disk in live mode first.

Well 1st, I'm running on windows7 and I want dual boot with linux (preferably linux being the default choice)
I tried:
- Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10
- linux Mint 12

both tried installing via USB stick, also tried installing ubuntu via wubi.

Both started well in live USB recovery mode (not the normal mode)

With mint12, it installed very smoothly but when done with installation, every time I open it it reboots.

Can you help with this problem?
