resizing ubuntu partition: Ubuntu installed along side xp

 I HAVE UBUNTU 11.10 ALONG SIDE MY XP OS. I WISH TO RESIZE THE UBUNTU PARTION TO A SMALLER PARTITION
HOW DO I DO THAT? PLEASE WALK ME THROUGH IT, I'M NEW TO UBUNTU AND DON'T SPEAK THE LINUX LANGUAGE.
IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL.
