Installer crashed

During installation of Ubuntu I got an error message that Installer crashed. Error message was asking to include following file paths while reporting this bug.
/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman

Is it due to the problem with harddisk or installation CD ?

I think they want the *contents* of that file, rather than the path :).

What was the error message (you can post a picture online, to say, http://imagepaste.nullnetwork.net/paste.php) ?

You can check the CD ISO by checking the MD5sum of the iso you downloaded.
