How to verify a CD / DVD some time after I burned it?

Asked by Jan Girke

Hi

I burned some CDs / DVDs and forgot to verify the images before I burned them and now I want to verify the CDs to make sure they are legit. How do I do that with the iso file?
The method has to be independent of the burning method (eg. track at once, session at once).

Thanks for good answers.

What type of disk it is? If is a version of Ubuntu you can check the disk at the startup.

10.04.3 Does not offer that option.
Or where is it hidden?

Oops. I forgot.
I need that program for other discs too.
It should also check the boot space and all datachannels and all the empty spaces on CDs DVDs and Blurays.

Have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck (but you will have to boot on it).
Else you can run command md5sum on the CD to check it. I don't remember the details.
Have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Can you help with this problem?
