need to reinstall, advised to delete partitions...

what must i do to reinstall my ubuntu? i am advised to delete current partitions but do not know what to do to make that happen.. [please advise)

please tell me what to do... i havefatal errors in a couple of applications and cannot install or remove software.. i wish to empty and reinstall, but have no idea what i need to do to delete my current partitons. perhaps someone would be ind enough to advise me on exactly what size from my 120g hard to make the partitions necessary to run ubuntu as my sole os. i have 2g RAM. please help me. i am trying so hard to learn this, and i think i am getting some progress, just ran into a couple of issues, and would appreciate the info requested asap. i will be watching and working on this all night. i am determined to be up an runnning by morning,,, thanks...

If you want to reinstall, and you dont have any other partitions, then boot into your Live Cd and do a fresh install on the entire Hard Disk Drive HDD.

If there is information on your current install that you want to keep, then obviously you will want to back that up.

that is what you are asking to do, erase and install on entire disk.
