How to uninstall Ubuntu 10.04

Asked by namgaw

I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit via DVD (not WUBI) alongside Windows 7. For future reference, I'd like to know how to uninstall Ubuntu and/or how to change the size of the hard drive devoted to Ubuntu.
TIA.

If you installed using dual boot, non-wubi, then you can just delete the partitions that do not belong to windows using either gparted from a liveCD, or any windows parition software. This cannot be done from the version of ubuntu running from the HDD.

To get back to windows completely, just reinstall the windows Master Boot Record (MBR) using the fixmbr command on your windows recovery disc.

To regain the space, you can either re-allocate the free space back to windows as a new partition, or extend your windows partitions

Can you please run me through all the steps for using FIXMBR from Windows Recovery Disk?

many people here are diehard linux users from the beginning, they don't have experience with windoze, so they won't know what to tell you.

if you want specific steps. you should search the microshaft support website. you can download the recovery disk from there and get step by step instructions on how to restore the mbr. equivalently, you can let your fingers do the walking on google.
