The program was working well then all of a sudden when it gets to the welcome page it shuts off

Asked by kathy

I downloaded Ubuntu onto a small Acer computer. I downloaded Skype and email then sent it to my granddaughter in Canada. It was working well before I sent it. She plugged it in and turned it on and when the welcome screen came on the computer shut down. She try again a few times and the same thing happened. I had her turn it off and take the battery out for a minute then plug it back in. This did not solve the problem. It continues to shut down as soon as she tries to do anything on it. The computer and the program worked well before I sent it.

You can't send programs via email. Lots of email programs strip out important bits and various online emailers such as hotmail forbids it and blocks it.

Best to give her the site URL and let her download it herself.

sounds like the hard drive got trahsed during transit.
best thing to do is to take it into a repair shop to get it fixed.

Can you help with this problem?
