I always, booting from Ubuntu live cd i use dd to copy entire disk /dev/sda to /dev/sdb (please set some useful BS block value to get copy speed)

sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=.....

http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=11585

and then setting destination disk as primary, still booting from live cd i reinstall grub...

Then still boot from live cd, using gparted, i resize the partition

Or you can use rsync (or grsync) and copy the files over that way

Can you help with this problem?
