What type of computer are you using? what model? what other version of ubuntu did you install before that worked? what OS are you using now?

are you attempting to install from the ubuntu cd ISO that you burned?

does the keyboard and mouse work in windows?

i have found a bug showing your exact symptoms
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/667027

i would recommend voting on that bug (saying it effects you) and adding a comment with any relevant information.

this page is extremely helpful in your situation and gives instructions on how to fix it. There is a bios update.

In BIOS, check option "Legacy USB keyboard/mouse".

Can you help with this problem?
