I bought a new macbook pro with osx lion system -- I cannot load ubuntu on it?? how can I do this.

How can I load Ubuntu onto the oS LION operating system. I want to use ubuntu and OS Lion?? The apple store said that the OSX lion is missing a kernel which enables the loading of UBUNTU. How do I change this configuration if at all so that I can also load Ubuntu on it.
