screen going blank while installing ubuntu 11.10 in acer 4736

Asked by santhoshnsscoe

Hello,

I use ubuntu 10.04 now. I tried to upgrade to 11.04 earlier. After installation, i was not able to view any think. I screen goes blank. I saw that this was a problem for many peoples. I re-installed 10.04 and is working fine.

Now i tried to install ubuntu 11.10 to see if the problem persists. But in this, the screen goes blank when it comes for the installation time only. When i press Fn+F6, i can see that there is installation screen.

I have downloaded the latest ubuntu from the website and using pen drive to install it.
I am using Acer aspire 4736. Please let me know what i have to do to install the latest version of ubuntu in my laptop.

When i put it in another laptop, hp pavillion g series, it works fine.
