Installing Ubuntu to a totally new PC

I want to ask something. I have bought a new computer with no software at all.
1. Can I install the Ubuntu software in my new PC (with no software at all? If yes, how? Please, mention in detail
2. Can I install the Ubuntu software from my own CD (not from CD' Ubuntu Offical) or Can I installit without buying the CD from Ubuntu Website?

Yes, you can install Ubuntu to a new PC with no software, but you will need to get the install media from somewhere (since you cannot download it because your PC has no software). You might be able to borrow the install media from a friend or from a Linux User group, or if you have a friend with a working PC, you can download the desktop iso file (about 700 Meg), and create your own install media. If your PC has a CD-ROM, you can burn the iso to the CD. If your PC does not have a CD drive, then create a USB install media (using unetbootin on Windows for instance). Once you have the install media, boot your PC from it, and install.

You might want to think about the partitioning of your hard disk before you start the installation. I like to have at least two 25M partitions for different Ubuntu installations, one the long term support version, and the other the current version, or just alternate installations, so you always have your working previous version to fall back on.
